The attorneys of Riess LeMieux team have handled or been involved with numerous class actions, mass actions, and MDL litigation on behalf of its clients, both as plaintiff and defendant. Our work in this area draws from the firm’s substantial experience in complex business and tort class actions. In each of those cases, we have drawn upon the Firm’s substantive experience in the area of law at issue, as well as our particular knowledge of complex class action and MDL procedures and strategies.
The attorneys of Riess LeMieux have successfully pursued and defended class action and MDL matters that include:
- Unfair Bank and Lender Practices. Hidden charges, overcharges, or other improper charges and fees by banks, lenders, and other financial institutions. The firm helped the class action plaintiffs to recover substantial fees from a large national bank.
- Environmental Litigation. The explosion of the Deepwater Horizon rig on April 20, 2010 and the resulting oil spill is one of the largest environmental disasters in the history of the United States. The firm assisted its clients with recovering tens of millions of dollars in economic losses caused by the BP oil spill.
- Hurricane Katrina Litigation. The firm represented both insurers and insureds in coverage dispute class action and MDL litigation stemming from Hurricane Katrina. Our attorneys have extensive experience in handling insured losses resulting from hurricanes and other catastrophic events.
