Emilia Duncan joined Riess LeMieux in February 2024 as an associate attorney. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in federal insurance defense for Workers’ Compensation claims submitted to the United States Department of Labor under the Longshore Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and Defense Base Act.
Emilia received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration and Spanish from Louisiana State University in 2018. Upon graduation, she accepted a position as an intern at the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office. Emilia earned her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2022. Throughout undergrad and law school, she clerked at various local and regional law firms and in her 3L year participated in the Children’s rights clinic as a Rule XX student practitioner with Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice.
