Liz Lambert is a partner and has been with the firm since its formation in 2018.

Liz began her legal career at the Jefferson Parish Attorney’s Office, serving as a Senior Assistant Parish Attorney, where she developed her experience in public procurement and the Louisiana Public Bid Law. She has built her practice around that work since entering private practice. She advises on the solicitation and award of public contracts, and she represents contractors in bid protests, alternative procurement and delivery methods, and mandamus proceedings arising out of public projects.

Liz drafts and negotiates construction and related contracts for owners, contractors, and developers on public and private projects. Liz regularly counsels construction clients on insurance related matters, including the rights and obligations of the parties under applicable policies, such as commercial general liability, builder’s risk, and OCIP and CCIP wrap-up programs, and has represented clients in disputes over coverage, liability, and surety bonds.

Liz also represents contractors, owners, developers, subcontractors, insurers, and self-insureds in construction disputes. Her litigation practice spans commercial buildings, highways, bridges, and residential, and includes contractual breaches, payment disputes, delay damages, and construction defects such as moisture intrusion, roof damage, structural defects, New Home Warranty Act, and construction vibration damage. She also handles personal injury and complex property damage claims arising out of construction and premises operations.

Liz counsels employers on workforce issues, most often contractors and others in the construction industry, and she represents employers outside the industry as well. She advises on hiring, discipline, terminations, and separations, drafts and reviews employee handbooks and personnel policies, prepares severance agreements and non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements, and counsels clients on drug testing, background checks, and accommodation and leave obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and related state and federal leave laws.

Liz has been recognized by Chambers and Partners as an Up and Coming individual in Construction, Louisiana, for four consecutive years, 2023 through 2026. She has also been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation and Construction Law since 2025.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

• Represents the private developer on both of Louisiana’s public-private partnership bridge projects
• Represented public entity in alternative procurement method for a fifty million dollar ($50,000,000) project
• Represented clients in bid protests against public entities
• Advised public entities and private bidders on solicitation, award, and challenge issues under the Louisiana Public Bid Law
• Assisted public and private entities in numerous contract negotiations for construction projects
• Advised construction clients on the rights and obligations of the parties under applicable policies, including commercial general liability, builder’s risk, and OCIP and CCIP wrap-up programs
• Represented contractor in mandamus action under Title 38 seeking payment of funds owed for work on a public project
• Represented public official in mandamus proceeding regarding the official’s duties pursuant to home rule charter
• Represented developer in zoning dispute and inverse condemnation proceedings
• Represented homeowner in matters related to servitude of drain and inverse condemnation proceedings
• Represented subcontractor in arbitration, recovering in excess of one million dollars ($1,000,000) on a delay claim
• Represented general contractor in pile driving and construction damage litigation
• Represented general contractor in construction defect claim by public owner
• Represented general contractor and surety in payment dispute against private owner
• Represented property owner in breach of contract claim regarding payment of commissions
• Represented public entity in redhibition and breach of contract claims
• Represented public entity in expropriation proceedings
• Advised clients on matters related to Public Works Act and Private Works Act lien and privilege claims
• Advised public entities on the Code of Ethics, the Public Bid Law, the Open Meetings Law, and the Public Records Act
• Drafted state and local legislation on behalf of public entities
• Provided testimony before legislative committees on behalf of public entity
• Provided ethics training and presentations to public employees and appointees
• Advised public and private entities on personnel and employment matters, including handbooks, policies, discipline, and separations
• Advised employers on accommodation and leave obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act
