Dr. Evian Mugrabi is an experienced civil litigation attorney admitted to practice in Louisiana, New York, and Israel. Originally hailing from Israel, Evian was granted the Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a doctorate degree at Tulane University Law School and moved to the United States. She practiced law in Israel for over five years, gaining significant experience in civil litigation and insurance defense. Before joining Riess LeMieux, Evian worked as a managing attorney at a local law firm, where she focused on real estate, commercial litigation and general civil litigation.
With over 12 years of diverse civil and commercial litigation practice, Evian has substantial experience with complex litigation in both state and federal courts. She has tried cases in state court and before administrative agencies. When Evian takes on a case, her clients reap the benefit of her considerable knowledge, experience and personal investment.
Evian has demonstrated a strong commitment to public-interest law and has taken numerous pro-bono cases in the interest of making the justice system accessible to all. In partnership with Columbia Law School, Evian initiated, developed and managed the Adala Justice Project to assist Arabic speaking women with domestic violence cases. In recognition of her contributions to Louisiana’s legal community and residents, Evian received the “Access to Justice Hero Award” from the Louisiana State Bar Association in 2017. Additionally, Evian delivered multiple CLE-accredited lectures related to public-interest law before the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the New Orleans Bar Association and mentored several attorneys who volunteered to provide pro-bono services in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands after Hurricanes Irma and Maria through the “A VER PR” program in partnership with Eversheds-Sutherland, LLP and Alston & Bird Law Firm.
