She has previously served as a prosecutor and as an Assistant City Attorney in Mobile, Alabama. She also has worked for a family business on complex estate, trust, and insurance matters.

Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University and also has a Structural Engineering degree from Clemson University. Several important laws affecting the construction industry—and businesses in general—were passed by the Louisiana Legislature during the 2020 Regular and Extraordinary Sessions and signed into law by the Governor, including partial tort reform, business and individual protections related to COVID-19, and new laws affecting the construction industry in particular.

The Louisiana Legislature has joined a number of other states—including New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Ohio—in introducing legislation that would require business interruption insurance to retroactively cover business losses attributable to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A federal district court recently granted summary judgment in favor of a firm client, dismissing a personal injury claim against a general contractor arising from a car accident near a construction site. The court concluded that the client had correctly performed its work on the federal project and complied with the plans and specifications.
The Louisiana Supreme Court recently issued a ruling clarifying the time period for insureds to assert bad-faith claims against their insurers that will have far-ranging effects on the insurance industry in the State of Louisiana.

On December 10, 2019, the Louisiana Supreme Court made final a ruling in favor of a firm client for the award of the Convention Center Linear Park Project estimated at $50 million. In May 2018, the firm successfully secured the award of the public project after defeating a legal challenge by an unsuccessful bidder at trial. The firm prevailed on both rounds of appeal, concluding with the Supreme Court’s denial of the losing bidder’s supervisory writ application.
