The article below from NOLA.com discusses the DOTD public-private partnership (P3) for the $162 million Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project which is underway. Christopher K. LeMieux and Johanna E. Lambert of Riess LeMieux are proud to serve as local counsel for the public-private partnership for this unique P3 Project. The DOTD is using this P3 project delivery model which involves an agreement between a public owner and a private partner for the financing, design, construction, operations and maintenance of an infrastructure asset. This significant project consists of constructing the new, fixed-span bridge and demolition of the existing bridge and tunnel. The bridge will include four, 12’ travel lanes, 4’ and 8’ shoulders and dedicated bicycle and pedestrian lanes. Groundbreaking was in April of 2021 with construction completion expected in the spring of 2024.
